How often do you find yourself saying “no” because of your fatigue?

Are you out of ideas on how to break the tiredness cycle and find that no matter how little or how big the activity is, the fatigue just won’t go away?

Did you know 1 in 6 people in New Zealand suffer from some form of Chronic Fatigue...

No doubt you will have heard how important exercise is to manage this but for most people, no one has taught them where to start.

Fatigue management programmes have many elements to them and are never the same for two different individuals with the condition. When prescribed correctly and with the correct focus, exercise can be the most beneficial treatment.

Unlike acute fatigue which is a sudden (and temporary) onset of extreme exhaustion and happens to most of us at some point in our lives, Chronic Fatigue is a persistent fatigue that is out of proportion to exertion and has lasted for longer than three months. It can be extremely disabling and frustrating to manage. It can also affect relationships with family, friends and work colleagues.

It’s estimated that Chronic Fatigue can cost a family $35,000 - $40,000 per year.

To date, healthcare professionals may have done all that they can to help you and may have used many of the tools available in their toolkit. However, there are many things that you can do to help ensure that you don’t let the fatigue beat you, and that you continue to live a healthy and fulfilling life.

If you have persistent fatigue and are feeling like the disability is preventing you from living a normal life, then an exercise-based fatigue management programme may be the best thing you can do to help yourself.
