  • Chronic Pain
    "I started working with Megan almost a year ago after being diagnosed with a Chronic Pain, central sensitisation condition. After meeting Megan I realised just how important exercise is to start on a path to controlling my pain. Working with Megan has played a massive role in my road to gaining control back, and without the ongoing-support I received, and still receive, I don’t think I would be in the better position that I am in now compared to one year ago. The exercise plan felt so daunting to start with, but working closely with Megan I can actually say I enjoy it once I get into the gym. I first got depression14 years ago when I was the a GM, had other business activities & my wife and I were caring for my terminally ill Mother. 5 yrs ago I was introduced to Megan McEwen's Exercise Rx approach. This meant I knew the advice she was gave me was based on her incredibly large knowledge base and my real (physical or mental) ailments and concerns.Megan developed for me a very customised exercise lifestyle (not just a program), we worked through that program, developed it, modified it over time, in the most part to suit my mindset towards exercise & what I do & don't enjoy (i didn't enjoy any exercise when we started). Megan got me to a point where I enjoy, even love exercising. I now want to exercise & the bonus is that I know it keeps me well. She got me to understand the psychology of exercise, by writing a custom prescription for me, exercise types, methods and challenges. Trying to "force" me to do exercise such as a Personal Trainer might do, would not have worked for me & I am sure any result would have been short term, hence the reason why so many people don't last longer than 3 months at a gym. I am now operations manager for a $11.0m t/o construction company & love imparting the change in my lifestyle & self management on my fellow workers. Megan's influence has also changed how my family & I exercise, eat & how much time we spend together. Whilst I no longer need to work with Megan, I follow her blogs & Linked In posts with great interest. Personally I think my experience working with Megan McEwen and Exercise Rx has been the single most important factor in my getting well & staying well & giving me the lifestyle I now have."
